Wow...what a great week we are having. We really have some amazing youth. Everyone of them have stepped up and been involved in all of the misson work. Serving meals, delivery meals on hills, baking muffins for the community kitchen, separating food at the food bank. Of course everywhere we go we hear nothing but compliments from the people we are serving or working with. Too bad the week is almost over. Having a blast in NYC. I must admit one thing though...I could not find a tee shirt one Time Square the said I Love Richomd because if I could I would have bought it. Give me the Bluegrass of Kentucky over the lights and glitter of Time Square any day. God Bless to all in Richmond and see you next week.
Man.. it's only Thursday? We had only been here one day and it seemed like we'd been here for weeks. By time we got back to the church tonight I felt like I had been here for months. This is somewhere around my 12th or 13th mission trip, and I'll have to say it's ranking near the best of them all. I would never have dreamed that a group of 36 church members, ranging in all ages, would ever have worked together so good. I guess 22 hours on a train will do that! As our "work" week came to an end today, I felt a sense of acomplishment. Each day we asked the kids how they saw God throught out the day, and I would have to say that I saw God in each individual here on this trip. Whether it was everyone working together to box canned goods, or a group of the high schoolers fixing a plate of food and taking it the homeless man sleeping on the church stairs, God has definetly been working through each individual on this trip. Thanks to all in Richmond who made this trip possible. It's been a life changing experience.
